Eschatology 3

Where is the United States?

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

Last week we spoke on Apostasy, the falling away from the truths of God’s Word, and now this week look at the effect that Apostasy is having on our nation. The question that many may ask is where does the United States fit in with Biblical Prophecy? I have not found that the United States is specifically mentioned in Bible Prophecy but there is a mention of the United States of Europe. This nation or group of nations will become the political and economic super power of the end-times. (Daniel 2; 7)

For this reason many scholars believe that the United States will be weakened by the time of the Great Tribulation. Throughout history many nations have risen to the super power status and then faded away. There have been several reasons for this and the United States has over the course of the last 67 years that I am aware of taken the course that has weakened the nation and may be the reason for its demise.

I think our discussion of last week is at the heart of the United States moral implosion. At the writing of this lesson the national debt of the United States is 19,964,093,068,986.00. It will be much more than that when you read this article. This mounting debt and a weakened economy is dragging our nation into an economic depression that we may never be able to get out of. Yet few are willing to make the sacrifice to slow this trend down, few are willing to save for the future but continue to borrow to obtain what we want now. We are spending the money that our great grandchildren have not had an opportunity to earn and may never have the opportunity to spend.

Morally and spiritually we are rapidly heading to bankruptcy. When I was a child in grade school the day was started with the Lord’s Prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States, and a morning devotion from God’s Word. This was public school in the United States. By the time I graduated in 1969 it was clear to me that these principles we no longer valuable to our society. God was dead and we as a nation were falling into Apostasy. Today we can look out at our society and see that few respect the nation we have been blessed to live it, many have no knowledge of God and His truths, and cannot make sound judgment between right and wrong. There is no respect or value in human life in our society. Over fifty million babes are murdered before they have the opportunity to take their first breath. The institution of marriage has been taken from the Church, dismantled and conformed to the desires of sinful flesh.

The Church in this nation and others is far from the holier than thou. The Church in the United Sates, a part of the Bride of Christ, is opening its arms and embracing the religion of the Anti-Christ Islam. We value peace with man over God’s peace in our hearts.

America has lost its true north, we have let go of the anchor of God’s Word. Life is filled with choices and each choice has its consequence. A Nation that has forbidden the Word of God to be taught to its children, a nation that has promoted sexual immorality, a nation that wastes the blessings the Lord has shed, and a nation that invites its enemy into its heart is surely a nation ripe for the judgment of God. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.” (Romans 1:18)

Regardless of what any may say this nation was founded upon Judo-Christian principles of the Scripture of God’s Word. If this nation falls it will not be the politicians that will hold the blame, it will not be any foreign invading power that is the blame, and it will not be the blame of immoral people, the accountability will rest on those who profess to be followers of Jesus Christ that will bear the responsibility. For the Lord God has promised, “My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

God is sovereign and He is a God of love and He is a God that is just. The choice is not God’s but mans. As man has been given free will and man will be accountable to the choices he has made. God will bless the nations that submit to Him and He will bring down the nations that reject Him. “He makes the nations great, then destroys them; He enlarges the nations, then leads them away.” (Job 12:23) It is our choice which side of that equation we shall be on. We just had an election here in this nation and though I believe the outcome was pre-ordained by God by which I have found some hope for my children. “Daniel said, “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. “It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding.” (Daniel 2:20-21) With all of Donald Trump’s faults he is a man who fears God and has surrounded himself with Christian counselors.

What could happen if God’s hedge of protection was removed from the United States? Could that happen as we take little faith that God is our refuge? “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1) What could happen if God removed His hedge of protection from the United State? “Have You not made a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. “But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will surely curse You to Your face.” (Job 1:10-11)

The United States has a stockpile of nuclear weapons that is a deterrent for other nations to consider before they unleash theirs against us. Just to name a couple of nations that are capable of this kind of action against the United States Iran and Korea come quickly to mind. They know that they have not the capability to destroy the United States with Nuclear bombs but they also know they do not need to. If they hit one major city as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or Houston the effects would be devastating. The whole economical system would be fractured beyond repair and coupled with our debt we would become a bankrupt nation.

We could suffer an Electromagnetic Pulse Attack. If a nuclear weapon was detonated a few hundred miles above the nation the effects would be devastating. If the weapon was detonated 300 hundred miles above the nation it would also effect Canada and Mexico. This would destroy our power grid, all electronics and information systems in the affected area. We would no longer have any electronic controls or the infrastructures to control them. There would be no cell phones, computers, telecommunications, transportation, fuel and energy, banking and finance, emergency services, and even food and water. Everything that operates with electricity will be dysfunctional. Think about what that means.

Another catastrophically event that could weaken the United States is the Rapture of the Church. It will also effect other nations as well because of the high concentration of Christians in the United States.

At the moment of the Rapture of the Church business leaders and employees will no longer be on the job. The payment of mortgages, loans, bills will go unpaid and will not be recoverable. Law enforcement and first responders will not be available. The stock market would crash as the panic ensues. Many people will be uninformed and unknowing of what has happened to so many people. Yet others will know as they who were members of the Church but not true believes will be left behind. The world itself will fall into chaos and political leaders will not accept the true answer to what has happened because of their ignorance of the truth of God’s Word. This would greatly weaken the United States and is in line with Biblical prophecy that the power will shift to the United States of Europe the revived Roman Empire. “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. “And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.” (Matthew 24:30-31)
