I have heard that if one can re-write history then that one can change the future. This is a very true statement. The future is built upon history. An example: If we can teach that the law of this country was not founded upon moral words from God’s truth, if we can teach that the laws of this country were founded upon secular preference, the future law will be based on the contemporary thought of the day. This may seem correct to short sighted intelligent men but looking from where our society has come to where it is now, I have to fear as to where it is going. The founding principles guided us to here but can the changing principles of today guide is to there? What then can one place their faith in if it has not been proven by the test of the ages? Are we to trust our own opinions hoping that a speaking majority agree rather than truths that have stood from before the beginning? Who is man that he could be so wise to discern the future beyond his own vision? What history approves man’s ability to manage life? The truth of that question is proven from the wisest man to have ever lived, Solomon. “There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 16:25)

In the teaching of American history there are those who say that faith in God had nothing to do with the founding of the United States. This is simply not true. There is a subtle movement that has been going on to rewrite American history changing it to meet the desires of the humanist movement in our culture. The trouble with the humanist movement is that it begins with man and it will end with man. God clearly teaches His people to remember from where they have come. The word remember is used 137 times in the Old Testament and 31 times in the New Testament in the New American Standard Version. There is great importance in remembering. If we do not remember from where we have come, then we have turned off a great light to enlighten the path of the future. State education now omits God in their teaching as He is no longer acceptable to the humanist direction. Today if you ask a child the simplest biblical question most have no idea of the answer. Even parents are lacking in American history and Biblical truths. As a society we must correct the error of our past apathy. “Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Just prior to the American Revolution there was a revival in the colonies known as “First Great Awakening.” The citizens of the colonies were plagued by a lack of morals and alcoholism. By the movement of the “Great Awakening” repentance and revival came to the colonies in such a great force that society was changed and strengthened. This certainly was a movement ordained by God. As a result the people had the moral courage to take on the world’s super power England. The cry of the Minute Men was “No King but Jesus!”

I am not going to debate the slanted truths about the Founding Fathers of our nation. There is no need as our history speaks for them in the words that they have written. “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other,” John Adams declared. Adams, John, message to the Officers of the First Brigade of the Third Division of the Militia of Massachusetts, October 11, 1798. “Religion and virtue are the only foundations, not only of republicanism and all free government, but of social felicity under all governments and in all the combinations of human society.” Adams, John, Letter to Dr. Benjamin Rush, August 28, 1811. The United States was founded on the belief that a free society could not stand without a firm moral and religious standard to adhere to. If society does not stand upon a solid belief system then it soon shall fall for any substandard of contemporary thought. “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.” Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. “The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell–and great was its fall.” (Matthew 7:24-27)

We have fallen much in the past six years when our President spoke these words. “Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.” (B. Hussein Obama stated in his inauguration speech that America’s reliance is upon “God’s grace.”) While these words of our President are noble indeed I do not believe they were spoken in sincerity. I believe when spoken he was playing the crowd which is a polite way of saying lying against his true intent. Since 1962 when our children could no longer pray in public schools the government has systematically been removing God from our society. In the book of Judges the Israelites turned away from God seven times and seven times they faced His judgment and repented. As I see our society today and the crimes we commit against humanity under the pretense of law I am convinced that we as a nation are heading towards God’s wrath.

The apathy of the Christian in America is stunning to say the least. While preachers and teachers of the Gospel practice their calling, the disciples never seen to understand that they are to be sent out to obey the great commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

Our Pastor Kevin Wynne has told us and I believe it is true there are two reasons that America in the past has become a great nation. By the Grace of God we have rose to a great nation and because we have always been a friend to Israel. It was a nation founded on the principle that, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” It was a nation where the down trodden, the hopeless, the destitute, the persecuted and the outcast come and build a new life with guarantees of personal freedoms. They applied and they came and found a new home and nation they could call their own. It was a great experiment in democracy and it worked as long as we stood on a moral foundation built on the Rock of God Almighty. By His grace we exists as a refuge in a world of conflict. This nation succeeded solely upon the grace of God. That grace is extended to us because we have always since 1948 been a friend to Israel. “And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” (Genesis 12:2-3)

America needs a revival, we need to turn back to the core beliefs from which our great nation has come. We need to once again seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness first that all these needed things will be added to us. (Matthew 6:33) Revival is not going to happen by a government mandate, it’s not going to happen in our classrooms, it’s not going to happen on the streets and it probably will not happen in our Churches. Revival in America will happen when you and I seek God humbly prostrate in our prayer closets. Revival starts in the heart of His individual believers. We need not wait till our land becomes desolate by the greed and selfishness of our own hears lust for this failing life. We need not wait till we are faced with God’s just wrath. God still is showing His mercy upon us, God still is giving His provision, God still is showing His forbearance, and God is wishing that none should perish. Now is the day for our revival and now is the day for our salvation. “And My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

The question is not will God spare His chosen people the Jews, not will he spare His holy city Jerusalem, and not if Israel will stand against the enemy that has surrounded her, the question is will we stand with her and be blessed with her. In End Time prophecy I do not see America and I fear for the sake of my descendants, and for your descendants. Fervent prayer can change the heart of God and His judgments, as Abraham’s prayer for Lot spared him from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra. Prayer is the foundation to everything that God wants to do for us His creation. We need to turn around and go back to the root from which we have come. We need to make straight the path of the Lord through repentance. (Matthew 3:3) Then we can fulfill His command to pray for the peace of His Kingdom. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.” (Psalm 122:6)

What gifts can we give to secure the future? We must turn away from our natural desires for the things of this world and look to the things of the coming world where we will spend eternity. We must clear the path of the things that hinder our fellowship with the Lord. We must confess and repent of our sins against God daily and, “Make ready the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight.” (Mark 1:3) We must be in prayer for our family, friends, leaders, and our enemies. If we are in constant conversation with God, then we are bound to be walking in His path as Enoch. (Genesis 5:24) “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Whoever wrote the words for President Obama’s inauguration address was certainly a man of good vision. “Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.” If we are to secure the future, then it will be through the youth who are the future. They can be taught by the revisionist professors of our day or they can be taught by the ones whom they trust the most. Fathers and mothers whose bond of love is greater than the impressions of self-seeking ambitions that they will face outside of the home. Who better to equip them to see the light of truth through the darkness of our society? It is what we have been taught to do, teach the children in the way they should go. “Tell your sons about it, And let your sons tell their sons, And their sons the next generation.” (Joel 1:3)

We must preserve our nation as a people who live under God by His grace. That our purpose is the protection of God’s Holy land, Israel. Israel stands today as she has since her founding back in the days of Abraham, in the midst of her enemies. Yet she has remained and is the oldest nation on earth. Many nations have been blessed by the existence of Israel and many have fallen because of her. But our nation has in the past always been a friend to the Israelites, and we have been blessed by God’s grace as well. Today as always Israel is surrounded by enemies and stands as a beacon of hope for all in the world. Israel will be here when all else has passed away. “And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.” (Revelation 21:2)

If we will humble ourselves and seek His Kingdom, teach the children that our future will be in steady God fearing hands, and stand by God’s chosen people, then God shall continue to Shed His grace on thee.
